“Morsi di casa (bites of home) is a sculpture born from the need for protection and the fear of abandonment. I’ve built my “nest” as a venus flytrap: welcoming, yet unsettling. a place that holds on, doesn’t let go, that scares anyone who approaches and traps those who enter. in this work, I speak of my way of loving, which sometimes grips too tightly, inevitably, much like the plant’s very nature.”

“I am a very detail-oriented person, and I like noticing everyday things. I’m mostly inspired by images from my daily life, helping me with songs, poems and prose that I consume in my free time. When I work on my art, I often end up portraying my feelings and experiences, always trying to use a visual/emotional language rather than an intellectual/conceptual one, since the supporting concept frequently builds itself in the process of creation.”

Ally Ann Kohler (2002) is a Swiss British artist who explores identity through vivid colour, texture, and performance; celebrating immediacy, imperfection, and freedom of expression. Her work has been exhibited in a couple of group shows in Tessin -where she was born- and in school exhibitions in Zürich, where she is now pursuing a bachelor’s degree in fine arts. Combining craft and performance, the artist shapes masks, costumes, and expressive paintings and sculptures from simple materials.
