COLOR THEORY, 2025

by Kochiba

“My work is created intuitively. Sometimes I don't have to write anything for months, only when I really feel it, whether I'm going shopping, sitting in the train or when I wake up in the middle of the night. My poems are done quickly, I write them all at once. I often read them over and over again, but I edit them minimally. It's a pure experience, the essence captured in the moment of truth.”

Kochiba (2001) is a multi-genre artist living in Bohemia in Central Europe, specifically in Pardubice. She mainly deals with painting and poetry. Her main themes are relationships, fascination with everyday things and symbolism. She exhibits and gives readings in Prague and often in other smaller cities.

    A touch caressing the body
    and soul,
    a cat's tongue
    running over an apricot.
    Glass and sand,
    circles
    and triangles

    Red, yellow, blue

    Two wetnesses,
    each different.
    They merge
    like oil
    and water.
    Yet they work,
    like a well-oiled
    machine

    Scarlet, ochre, turquoise

    Long strands of cuticles
    made of amino acids,
    proteins,
    fat
    and
    water

    Follicle stimulation
    so that I feel good,
    and
    don't
    have a
    headache

    Crimson, amber,
    cyan

    Skin flakes,
    and dust mites
    are mixed together
    80% cotton sheets,
    the rest is polyester,
    yuck
In the end, it's more disgusting
    than some
    skin
    bugs

    Bordeaux, sand, cobalt

    Emotions sorted in vials,
ready for you to take in the morning,
    oh!
most importantly, don't confuse the types
    and the order,
you could have a cardiac arrest
    or
    like
    shit yourself

    Fuchsia, Fawn, anthracite

    Lips rough as tree bark
    till you get
    the taste of an apple,
    but it doesn't go far,
    so you stay
    and don't leave,
    you're still missing socks,
    or at least
    one of them

    Red, yellow, blue
