“I binge-watch series and movies, read magazines, dye my hair, paint my nails, and scroll through TikTok—for a start. Somehow, I always find inspiration in color combinations or outfits I come across. Music can also plant a seed in my mind. I have a few references that have stuck with me for years, and I usually start with text—even though I've always considered myself pretty bad at writing. I write like a 5-year-old, but it helps me create a narrative, a story and from there, a visual work.”
Eloïse Dufour practice is a playground where she’s the doll. She gets dressed, puts some glitter on, and plays around with dreams, delusions. She crafts items and stages installations that make her feel pretty and confident. Eloïse‘s inspired by TV shows and movies from the ‘80s and ‘90s, where she can collect outfit inspo, color codes, and music soundtracks. She likes pink, shiny things, glitter crowns, ribbons, and jewelry. Her work is a big puzzle made of objects and sounds that you can link together or scroll through.
