“For installations such as Enuma Anu Enlil, I create large collections of digital image material: screenshots from social media, memes, search-engine results, AI-generated images, self-taken photographs, product and product-review photos, stock images, and video stills. I have selected image sections printed on aluminum composite panels and cut into shape. I suspend these pieces from the ceiling using braided fishing lines. I arrange the composition during the installation process in the space.”

Iris Helena Hamers creates spatial installations based on digital image archives compiled from found, self-taken and machine-generated photographs. She completed her BFA in Fine Arts at HfbK Hamburg and spent the last year of her studies at SUNY Purchase School of Art and Design in New York. She is currently pursuing her MA in Fine Arts, Art:ificial Studies at ZHdK in Zurich. Her work has been shown in institutions, galleries, and project spaces in Germany, Luxembourg, New York, and London.
