“My work comes from color cataloging and my studies of color systems, but also from computer design between photographic, vector and sometimes 3D modeling. This is mixed with what happens in painting and chance. I use different vinyl masking to achieve vector-drawn textures and patterns, as well as different painting techniques and mediums to achieve various color effects. The artistic process is a continuous chase of ideas and practice.”

Uriel Schmid-Téllez (*1995) is an independent artist and researcher of Swiss-Mexican nationality. His painting practice investigates the relationship between practice and theory, project and chance, code and communication, culture and nature, in an in-depth research on color. His work has been exhibited in Italy and Switzerland in institutional settings, offspaces and galleries. He holds a BA in painting and MA in visual arts from the Academy of Fine Arts in Bologna and works in Lugano.
